I am a mascara fiend! I want long lashes, and I want them now, no matter how many coats it takes! I have naturally long lashes, but I like to get them as long as possible without looking too spidery.
I decided to try out L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara, because the brush looks really different.
I tried it out today before I applied my liner, and I can say at first the formula of this mascara is really wet, but given time to dry a little, it adheres to lashes nicely. When I apply my mascara daily, I usually use two or three different brands/types of mascaras to achieve the look I want, but with Voluminous Butterfly, it’s the only mascara I need in one sitting. It makes my lashes REALLY long, and they held a curl nicely with the help of a lash curler.
Now for the drawbacks: While my lashes look super long with this mascara on, they almost look like that gross Younique Mascara all of those people are peddling on Instagram and Facebook, which I am not a fan of. However, that could be remedied with the help of a good lash comb. I also had quite a bit of fallout from the mascara throughout the day, some landing on my face, and some in my eye.
I will use Voluminous Butterfly Mascara for the next few days to figure out how to get the best use out of it, because I do feel that the brush and formula are really nice.
Do you have a Holy Grail drugstore mascara? Do you think that a mascara’s brush or formula matters more?
Great one, I love the thick wand, and how awesome the effect! xo~ Lena

Oh dear, fallout. That’s usually my problem with mascara. Even the waterproof formulas tend to smudge against my cheeks, so something lengthening like this is likely to end up making a mess of my eye makeup. 😦
My HG drugstore mascara is still Maybelline’s The Falsies. It gives a lot of volume and length simultaneously, so it’s the best of both worlds. 🙂

I’m addicted to mascaras too- ! I don’t have this one yet, but we’ve been selling a ton of them and after this post, I want to grab one. lol. I think through my experiences, the brush is what matters most (at least it’s what will make me buy a mascara- I’m a sucker for a cool mascara wand). xx
