E.L.F. HD Blush… Dare I Say TOO Pigmented?

I have a love/hate relationship with E.L.F.  Some of their products are great, and some are really bad, so it’s hard to gauge what shades to purchase.  I have lucked out with their blushes, whether they be powder or cream.  E.L.F.’s blushes are always HIGHLY pigmented, and since they are so inexpensive, that even if you get the wrong shades, there’s usually no buyer’s remorse.

I have no idea what I was thinking when I purchased the HD Blush in Diva.  Maybe I thought the color payoff wouldn’t be so strong, so I went for the brightest shade possible?

I just have to tell you now, you only need the tiniest of pumps to use for both of your cheeks. This was two full pumps, and entirely way too much.

I have heard people compare Diva to MAC’s Candy Yum Yum lipstick.  This blush formula is so liquidy/creamy and pigmented, that you could definitely use this as a lipgloss.

This blush is strong, beautiful, and long lasting.  So much so, that you don’t need such a bright shade.  I could not wear Diva outside and take myself seriously.  This will however work great for stage makeup!

Today, I put the tiniest amount on the back of my hand, and swirled a Real Techniques stippling brush through it, and applied to my cheeks.  A small amount goes a long way, and if you blend well, it doesn’t leave your cheeks feeling sticky.

E.L.F. HD Blush does stain the skin so it would be great to wear out in the heat, and it woud definitely last you all day.

This is after wiping my hand down. It does stain, but that's great for long lasting wear.

I would highly recommend this blush for most skin types, and especially if you have a hard time getting your blush to stay.  I will use Diva for my lips, but pick up some lighter, more wearable colors.

Have you tried E.L.F. HD Blush?  Do you have any recommendations for a better shade?
