Washing Away My Monday Blues-Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish

The best part of subscribing to monthly beauty boxes is the awesome products you get to try that you would never have known about or had access to.  Out of all of the samples you might forget about or give away, there are always a few that stand out, and this time it is the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Kit.

I have been having some major issues with my skin the last month or two, and I have been in desperate need of a solution, so I was excited to be able to get this sample in September’s Birchbox.

Yesterday evening, after an afternoon of running errands and dining out, I figured it was as good a time as any to try out this cleanser.  I did not wear makeup yesterday, but my skin was oily from being out in the heat.

The instructions were to rub the cleanser onto a dry face, and wet the muslin cloth under hot water.

After massaging the cream cleanser onto my face with my hands, I wiped off with the wet cloth.  The muslin cloth does feel a little rough on the skin, but it wasn’t as abrasive as using Apricot Scrub.

I rinsed my face with cold water per the instructions.  My face felt REALLY clean, cleaner than it has felt in a while.

In case you’re interested, here is the list of ingredients:

Aqua (water), Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, Cetearyl alcohol, Cetyl esters, Sorbitan stearate, Polysorbate 60, Glycerin, Cera alba (beeswax), Propylene glycol, Humulus lupulus (hops) extract, Panthenol, Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) extract, Anthemis nobilis (chamomile) extract, Eucalyptus globulus (eucalyptus) oil, Limonene, Citric acid, Sodium hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Benzoic acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Dehydroacetic acid, Polyaminopropyl biguanide

I woke up this morning, and the acne on my cheeks had already reduced. My blemishes were slightly red, but they definitely looked like they were healing.   Needless to say, it was a great start to my Monday morning.

This is definitely one of those instances where I am absolutely going to purchase the full size once my sample is done.  I am sold after one try, but I will update if I have any adverse affects after prolonged use.

Have you tried this cleanser kit?  Did it work for you?

  1. I got a sample of this from Birchbox last year, and while it was a nice cleanser I’m not sold on the muslin cloth thing. I prefer just to wash and rinse with my hands, because I don’t like fussing with extra THINGS during my nighttime routine (I’m always so sleepy and impatient!).
