Physicians Formula Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls: Why Would a Physician Make A Highlighter?

Really, really?  PHYSICIANS FORMULA?  When Dr. Frank Crandall dreamed up this line, did he think it would evolve into powder palettes with high heels and hearts stamped into them?

I purchased this powder because I am starting to become interested in contouring and highlighting, and I have been looking for an inexpensive powder to practice with.  I usually pass by the Physicians Formula display in the store, because I always felt that for a drugstore brand, they are slightly on the expensive side.

I saw a photo of a woman on Instagram the other day who had a gorgeous highlight, and she said it was a Physicians Formula powder.  So off I went to Target to check it out!

After looking over the display, I settled on the Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls.  In the package it had a high sheen look and the color seemed like a good neutral shade to compliment my skin.

(The product is lighter, but thanks to my bad lighting it appears darker.)

The compact is a chrome silver with a pearl on the cover.  It’s very cute and mermaid-y.  The directions on the package state that you can wear this all over your face, to even out skin tone, but I would suggest only using this as a highlight and not as an allover powder.

It is quite shimmery, and definitely not a product I would wear outside during the day because it is incredibly reflective.  However, it will give you a nice glow for a nighttime event.  On first sight, the product has a high sheen, but once you dip into the pan, it doesn’t look like it is quite as shiny.  I can’t wait to try this on a full face and wear it out.

Have you used any Physicians Formula products?  Do you love the brand?

  1. I agree the PF is a bit pricey for drugstore and I’m just now starting to explore them more myself. Keep an eye on Target sale’s ads because once every few months this brand is BOGO! Also, if you have a CVS near you, they often run deals where you will get a store credit back when you make a purchase from this line (it’s usually a $7 credit). AND, if you have a Ross near you, these items are often in their makeup section for like half price 🙂

  2. I do cave and purchases some PF products every now and then. I think I have this Mineral Glow powder too! It is great for highlighting. I’m going to get their shimmer strip trio eyeliners next, I hear that they are pretty good!
