Birchbox September 2014-It’s a Good One!

I FINALLY received my Birchbox for September, and just as I thought I was getting a little bored of this sub, this month’s box delivered.  Every sample is AMAZING!

All of the samples I received in my September Birchbox

When Birchbox emailed me a while ago allowing me to choose between two special samples to included in my box, I chose the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Starter Kit.  Since my skin has been on fire lately, I am hoping to try this out and see if it alleviates any of these skin problems I’ve been having.

Let’s get on with the samples I received.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Starter Kit

Let’s talk about the box that this sample came in, it was a box within my Birchbox, it was like the best matryoshka doll I could ever receive. The instructions for this cleanser are as follows:

Cleanse daily, morning and night using this two-step process:

Step 1: Massage one or two pumps onto dry skin over face and neck twice a day.

Step 2: Rinse the pure muslin cloth in hand-hot water and wring out before gently wiping off the cream. Rinse and repeat.

Macadamia Professional Healing Oil Spray

I have never used a Macadamia Professional products before, but I’ve seen this brand popping up everywhere.  I was really glad to see this sample in my box this month, because I use products like argan oil and moroccan oil for my hair frequently, so this was perfect.  Since last night was hair washing night, I decided to spritz the Healing Oil onto the ends of my hair before heat styling, and my hair felt incredibly soft and frizz free.  This oil spray also smells really good.

Ruffian Nail Lacquer in Ruffian Naked

I don’t know much about this polish brand, but I did try this color on my thumb last night, and it’s a really nice nude.

As a bonus, Birchbox included this Ruffian acetone free polish remover towelette.

Temptu Highlighter in Champagne Shimmer

I’ve been looking for a highlighter for a while, so it will be nice to try this one.  I tested it on my hand last night, and it goes on nicely, dries quickly, isn’t sticky, and has a soft shimmer.

In the second picture, the highlight isn’t very obvious, but when I moved my hand in the light, you could see the slight shimmer.  Perfect for a daytime highlight.

Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream

This skin cream claims you can use it from head to toe-including lips!  So last night before bed, I decided to try it.  Upon application, I was a little unsure because it smelled slightly like Vick’s VapoRub.  I’m VERY allergic to Carmex, so I was scared this cream might make me have a reaction.  Alas, the smell goes away after a few minutes, and it didn’t leave behind that tingly feel on my lips, that I expected from the smell, which was a plus for me.

Overall I am really pleased with my September Birchbox samples.  I am likely to purchase most of these in their full sizes once I used up the samples.

Did you get anything different in your Birchbox?  Have you tried any of these products?
